Tracey and Brad are Gettin' Hitched!

Tracey and Brad are the kind of couple you can't help but fall in love with. They are great people but together they make such a sweet couple. I am so looking forward to being there for their big day.

On the night of their E session I took them to a gorgeous location that had everything...fantastic building, a rustic barn, an old metal building and the perfect field for photos. We used every little area and got great shots....but by far the most memorable shot of the evening came when we were shooting in front of the barn. Instead of lugging my fantastic red chair and my camera bag out of the field  (which we were right next to) we left them in the field (which we were right next to). I jokingly told Brad and Tracey they were in charge of keeping an eye on the bag and chair in the field (which we were right next to) and started snapping our next pose...just a few seconds into it out of nowhere Brad yells out "HEY...that's ours" and he gets up and hauls ass over to the field (not sure if I mentioned it or not, but we were RIGHT next to it) and tells the jackass who was riding thru the field on his bike to put down the camera bag. Yes, you are reading this right...despite us being RIGHT beside the field this kid saw an opportunity...but as soon as Brad saw him pick it up he was off like a bat out of hell...no way he was letting the kid ride off! Now, the kid gave it right back and said he was surprised to see such a cool bag just lying there so he decided to pick it up...yeah right! My camera bag, while filled with cool stuff, is not that cool looking. Just a plain black bag does the job for me...so I highly doubt he thought it looked all that cool. Nevertheless Brad totally saved the day! And both the camera bag and kick ass red chair were unharmed in the whole ordeal.

As for Brad and Tracey and I, we all had a good laugh...and carried on...and got some GREAT pictures. What a fantastic couple. I can't wait for their big day!

PS - Brad, you are on camera bag lookout patrol from here on in! ;-)

Belly Session Shenanigans!

I don't think I have ever met a couple that should be parents more than this couple! I have known Kristin since I was in high school and I swear the girl hasn't changed a bit. She is an awesome person (of course) but the thing that stands out about her personality is her sense of humor!

It's hard to put into words the way you feel when you are around Kristin...she is a bundle of energy, she always knows just what to say to make you laugh and she will laugh at anything (including herself)! When she found Darryl I think she found her perfect match...these two BELONG together. Darryl compliments her kookiness with an equal share of zany!

Spending an evening with them didn't feel like work at all. They did whatever I wanted but their personalities were what made this pictures! The lighting, composition and editing can only take a photo so far - if you don't have fun at your session, if you can't be yourself the photos will never really represent you. Kristin and Darryl will never have that problem. This session oozed personality...it was filled with laughter, goofing around and tons of love. This baby girl is so lucky to be coming into a world where Kristin and Darryl get to be her parents (though as a teenage I do wish her luck)!

Take a peek at some of the beautiful, sweet and silly moments!

This one was ALL mamas idea...I usually don't make pregnant women jump! ;-)

Happy Birthday Sweet Leah!

It's hard to imagine that I won't get to see this darling little girl every few months anymore. The day I photographed Leah's first birthday session was exactly one year to the date that I met mom for the first time while shooting her maternity session. That year just flew by and now here we are...several sessions later Leah is now one!

This little girl is just so sweet, she reminds me of my son in the way that she is slow to warm up to new situations (my backdrops stressed her out the first time)...but when she gets comfortable and relaxed all you see are smiles and those AMAZING eyes!

It has been a pleasure being able to help document her first year and getting to know her family...a wonderful experience! I am so looking forward to seeing how much she changes and grows when we meet again!

Happy Birthday Leah!

Big Man!

I saw Grayson's mama nearly every day of her pregnancy and I never would have guessed that she was going to have a ten pound baby!

I swear mama looked like she gained nothing but belly weight, she was (is) gorgeous...and I am sure no one expected the new little bundle of joy to be a bit bigger than expected. When I arrived for the session mama was afraid I didn't have props large enough to hold Grayson...but really, when it comes to newborns they are so tiny and bendy (even at 10 pounds) and the only item that was a little on the small side was a hat that was VERY tiny...and he still rocked it! In fact he rocked the whole session...he slept like a champ and was oh so adorable while doing it. Thanks mom and dad for allowing me to meet your baby boy and be part of his first few days!

So here is a peek at the sweet little boy that really wasn't so big after all!

More Mariah

I have photographed Mariah several times...and every time I do I swear she gets sweeter. Mom and Dad were so excited to get her photos done again that they even didn't mind booking with me on the day of her birthday party (a busy day for sure). We met early which meant it took a few minutes for Mariah to warm up...but once she did she rocked the session. She LOVED dressing up and was totally into picking her outfits and accessories. I had such a great time with Mariah! I think we got some GREAT birthday memories!
