Belly Session Shenanigans!

I don't think I have ever met a couple that should be parents more than this couple! I have known Kristin since I was in high school and I swear the girl hasn't changed a bit. She is an awesome person (of course) but the thing that stands out about her personality is her sense of humor!

It's hard to put into words the way you feel when you are around Kristin...she is a bundle of energy, she always knows just what to say to make you laugh and she will laugh at anything (including herself)! When she found Darryl I think she found her perfect match...these two BELONG together. Darryl compliments her kookiness with an equal share of zany!

Spending an evening with them didn't feel like work at all. They did whatever I wanted but their personalities were what made this pictures! The lighting, composition and editing can only take a photo so far - if you don't have fun at your session, if you can't be yourself the photos will never really represent you. Kristin and Darryl will never have that problem. This session oozed personality...it was filled with laughter, goofing around and tons of love. This baby girl is so lucky to be coming into a world where Kristin and Darryl get to be her parents (though as a teenage I do wish her luck)!

Take a peek at some of the beautiful, sweet and silly moments!

This one was ALL mamas idea...I usually don't make pregnant women jump! ;-)

FOUR

Four years ago today (yikes) my daughter Lara made her much anticipated appearance into the world. The day started off rather early and as dawn was approaching on a hot and humid spring morning my hubby and I left for the hospital. We listened to music, laughed and talked. We were so excited to meet this little person. I was one day past my due date but still wasn't convinced that this was "it"...but to appease my hubby we continued to the hospital. As we drove something happened that took us both by surprise...we saw a star shooting across the sky. It was right in front of us...and almost seemed meant for us (who else would be up so crazy early?). It was at that moment I knew I was ready to meet this kid....it was going to be a good day!

So, on Mother's Day today I celebrate my daughter's 4th birthday,  my sweet little boy and being a mom! Happy Mother's Day to all the moms and moms-to-be!

Family History

Last year, as a gift to my father-in-law, I documented a year on the Morrison Family farm. I shot during every season and captured everything from planting to harvest season to the daily occurrences on the farm. I took thousands of pictures and now one (or a few) are going to be published in a calendar. The Essa Historical Society will be using one of my photos for a calendar documenting local farms. People are actually going to buy something with my work in it....I know it's only a calendar...but it's a start!
