Just a little cold...

Wow...what a start to this session! It. Was. Freezing. The spot we started off in was being hit hard with intense wind...I was worried. Luckily as we moved around and found some other areas to shoot in we got some shelter from the wind and started to feel all our limbs again! :-) In fact, the rest of the session was rather nice...partly because I had feeling in my fingers but mostly because I got to know a very sweet couple! I always feel so special when people include me to help share such important moments, but it's made even sweeter by the fact that this couple JUST moved into the area (from rather far away) and found me online and wanted to work with me! They didn't know someone who had worked with me, they came to my work and decided I was the right choice for them...that is pretty special! Thanks mom and dad-to-be!

Well, I hope the wait was worth it for mom-to-be (I am a day later than I had planed on this post because of a sick kid - story of my life)! They are a sweet couple...and you can't even tell they were partially frozen! :-)

Growing Family

Is there anything sweeter than a growing family?

I got to spend a great morning with a family I have gotten to know pretty well over the past 2 years. Mom was really looking forward to belly photos and wanted to include her little man and hubby too and I couldn't think of a better way than a lifestyle session. I love watching families get all cozy on the couch together and  be fun and playful. We also managed to snap some studio style images too...fun to get the best of both worlds! Here is a peek at some fabulous images from the session...digging the black and white for this session.

I am really looking forward to meeting the newest addition to this family VERY soon!

Glam bump!

How much do I love when a mom-to-be is up for a glam baby bump session? So much! I love that this soon to be mama got all dressed up for some very glam belly shots. There is nothing like rocking a gorgeous dress, fancy baubles and some great shoes to show off a gorgeous baby belly.

I had a ton of fun shooting this session...this couple was all smiles and up for anything, even posing around the barn where there may or may not have been creepy sounds coming from within. I am pleased to say we all made it out alive AND didn't have any little creatures come out and attack!

Here are a few of the beautiful images I captured of this mom (with the teeny, tiny baby bump) and dad-to-be. Aren't they stunning?

Breezy Belly Session

Remember all that nice weather we had in March...heck even the practically balmy weather we had over the course of most of the winter? Well, on this day in April it was not balmy or unseasonably warm...it was cold...down right freezing with the insane wind we had to deal with that night. Despite is all this mama and her growing family braved the conditions and had a little fun with me!

So, on this chilly April night (and the official due date of the mom-to-be) this blog post seems fitting. Hope you all enjoy it from your warm and comfy house!

Best shoes EVER! (The sequel)

About two years ago I posted a blog about the best shoes EVER...you know the one...the gorgeous pictures of the shoes worn by Debra (my little sister) on her wedding day...well, less than a year later she was rockin' some pretty smokin' shoes again...but this time she did it while showing off her baby bump. Is there anything more fun than a glam belly session? As usually Debra rocked the shoes and looked stunning as a mom-to-be. Take a peek at her and her and her cool shoes!

Baby Bump!

When Jen and I first stared emailing it was all about weddings! She was looking to get some details so she would be ready to start the official planning in the near future! Well, looks like the near future brought a fantastic surprise! A baby is on the way and instead of meeting to shoot a wedding it was a belly session!

Despite the fact that Jen has been taking it easy (doctors orders) she was excited to do a shoot around town.  I think she was just so happy to be out of the house that she would have done anything I asked! What a great time I had with this couple...we strolled around town early Sunday morning before everyone else was up and captured some great moments and fun shots.

So Jen, this post is for you...while you are resting at home in bed or on the couch you have something new to do...even if this post will only keep you occupied for a little while I hope it is the bright spot in your day!

Belly Session Shenanigans!

I don't think I have ever met a couple that should be parents more than this couple! I have known Kristin since I was in high school and I swear the girl hasn't changed a bit. She is an awesome person (of course) but the thing that stands out about her personality is her sense of humor!

It's hard to put into words the way you feel when you are around Kristin...she is a bundle of energy, she always knows just what to say to make you laugh and she will laugh at anything (including herself)! When she found Darryl I think she found her perfect match...these two BELONG together. Darryl compliments her kookiness with an equal share of zany!

Spending an evening with them didn't feel like work at all. They did whatever I wanted but their personalities were what made this pictures! The lighting, composition and editing can only take a photo so far - if you don't have fun at your session, if you can't be yourself the photos will never really represent you. Kristin and Darryl will never have that problem. This session oozed personality...it was filled with laughter, goofing around and tons of love. This baby girl is so lucky to be coming into a world where Kristin and Darryl get to be her parents (though as a teenage I do wish her luck)!

Take a peek at some of the beautiful, sweet and silly moments!

This one was ALL mamas idea...I usually don't make pregnant women jump! ;-)
