Little? Maybe. Mighty? Absolutely!

I met baby R's Mom and Dad for a maternity session on a chilly spring evening and I connected with them quickly! They are such a great couple. Their story of a move halfway across the country (away from family) only to find that that had a baby on the way just struck a chord with me. Even though their families would be far away, they had each other, and they were so excited to meet their baby girl.

Little did they know that when their beautiful baby girl arrived that their whole world would be thrown upside down! Baby R was sent to Sick Kids, where she received amazing care for a very serious condition that limited her ability to eat and breath. Luckily, one month to the day after her arrival this baby girl came to the studio and she is doing remarkably well. Mom and Dad are adjusting to parenthood like champs! This is one special family and one very sweet baby girl!

I hope that these images serve as a memory of all that they have endured during the early days of her arrival. For a teeny, tiny little girl she sure is a tough cookie!

Fresh.

Oh. My. Gosh. There is nothing more adorable than a brand spanking new baby to snuggle and cuddle! I was lucky to meet this sweet little princess just 6 days after she made her arrival. Mama was overdue and I am sure she was very anxious to meet this beautiful baby girl, but after looking at this sweet face I am sure she knew that the wait was worth it!

I've spent the last 2 years focusing a lot more time on my newborn sessions and I just can't get enough! They are long and exhausting but the final product always makes me so excited to hand over the picture to a new mom and dad. Enjoy these sweet sleepy sneak peeks!

Be Your Cute Self!

It doesn't really matter how you pose a child...and it really doesn't matter where the light is best. Why? Well, quite frankly it doesn't matter what the photographer thinks a good pose would be or where the pictures would produce the best light. Photographing kids is all about letting kids be kids! Place them in a desirable area and then just wait for their personalities shine. Very few children will sit and smile when asked by the crazy lady chasing them with a big ass camera...so instead I just chase them around and try and capture kiddos having fun being kids!

These three girls were so amazing to shoot. Tons of personality that just leaps out of the photographs. Shy, silly and serious are just a few of the moments I captured. And when the three of them were together it was like an explosion of cute. Each sweet little girl was, in front of me, exactly how they would normally be. Perfect!

This was such a great night. I think I enjoyed it as much as Mom and Dad will enjoy the photos! Happy viewing.

Big Man!

I saw Grayson's mama nearly every day of her pregnancy and I never would have guessed that she was going to have a ten pound baby!

I swear mama looked like she gained nothing but belly weight, she was (is) gorgeous...and I am sure no one expected the new little bundle of joy to be a bit bigger than expected. When I arrived for the session mama was afraid I didn't have props large enough to hold Grayson...but really, when it comes to newborns they are so tiny and bendy (even at 10 pounds) and the only item that was a little on the small side was a hat that was VERY tiny...and he still rocked it! In fact he rocked the whole session...he slept like a champ and was oh so adorable while doing it. Thanks mom and dad for allowing me to meet your baby boy and be part of his first few days!

So here is a peek at the sweet little boy that really wasn't so big after all!
