Another Amazing Newborn Session!

The moment a couple learns that they are pregnant (especially for the first time) is usually accompanied with a mixed bag of emotion. There is so much joy and excitement...but there is also so much anxiety, worry...it really makes you wonder how on earth it'll be possible to get thru a pregnancy without a nervous breakdown!

Mom and Dad of this darling boy had more than their fair share of ups and downs during pregnancy. Plenty of visits to the doctor, long weekly commutes into the city for appointments and a whole lot of bed rest. This was an eventful pregnancy...and while although I know it must have been difficult at times for these first time parents they made it...they got to the pregnancy finish line and finally welcomed their son into the world....and I was lucky enough to be part of his first days here on earth! I can only hope that they appreciate these images as much as I enjoyed being the one to take them. I feel so grateful to be invited into the homes of new parents and hear about their birth stories, see them interact with their baby in those very early stages of life and meet the new addition. On this particular day I also got to be there when Grandma and Grandpa met their grandson for the first time, what a special moment for me to be part of...I really feel so close to all the parents and families that I meet when shooting a newborn session!

Lucky for me, this baby boy was a fantastic model! I set up and I swear mom handed me the little guy and BAM, he was asleep...out like a light and didn't make a peep! I worked fast....got a ton of shots...and then passed this little newborn photo session champ onto his proud grandparents.

Thank you Mom and Dad for inviting me into your home...and of course, to Grandma and Grandpa for letting me finish up before getting your baby boy snuggles!

Something Blue

Okay, so lately I have been shooting more and blogging and sneak peeking less....but I would rather fill my time shooting then blogging...so or the next little while blog posts will be far and few between!

That being said....I had to share some of the photos from this session. This baby boy was such a cutie. He slept like an angel and I didn't see his eyes until the minute I was was packed up. The house was so relaxed and I think this little guy knew it. Mom and Grandma sat around and watched and just let me go to town (I love when parents do that)! What a great time I had with this little guy...Mom and Dad I hope you like this little peek!

Oh. So. Cute.

The more I photograph newborns the more I love it! This beautiful little girl made my job terribly easy. After hauling in all my equipment and props on a snowy morning I was ready to begin shooting....lucky for me so was Raina. She went staright to sleep as I posed her for over an hour without a peep. Not only was she a fantastic sleeper, but her big sister was a sweetheart that helped me out and watched the entire session. What a great morning I had with the family, it was so relaxed and baby Raina certainly picked up on it. She was peaceful all morning and a dream to photograph, so good in fact, that I even had time to get in some shots with her sister and the whole family! Take a peek at this sweet family!

ONE!

I have to admit, sometimes I get frustrated working two jobs. Being a teacher can be a 24/7 job, so adding children and a second job to the mix sometimes makes me a little, crazy! I stress out about about all the school things I could be doing (like report cards) while taking photos and think about editing photos while I am at school.

What I loved about this session was that when Samantha came with her mama for her one year cake smash session I found out her mom was a teacher too. It was so nice to have someone understand the demands on my full time job while trying to squeeze in time for my photography jobs. I had been feeling rather crummy the morning of this session because I have been dealing with a high number of last minute cancellations (which can turn my whole life upside down after I plan out the days in a given month I choose to shoot), but Michelle made it all feel a bit better. She made sure to let me know that she was in no rush for her photos to be completed (some people seem to think it takes me no time to edit photos) and that she was just grateful for the experience. She even went so far as to tell me not to bother with her photos until I had finished all my report cards. I think Michelle might just be my new best friend (LOL).

So, thank you Michelle for MY experience! You were a wonderful client to deal with!

Now for the fun stuff...birthday slideshow of sweet Samantha!

Fresh!

Oh, I love newborn sessions! While although they require a huge amount of patience and time the results are so worth it! It is such a pleasure to be capture such a remarkable time for a family. That precious newborn stage passes so quickly, so it is some important to capture it as soon as possible!

If you are thinking about newborn photos please be reminded that I like to shoot in the first TEN days of the new little ones life. It is so important that baby can be posed into various positions to achieve the newborn shots and if your baby is more than ten days old the chances of being able to do that are not so great. Contact me while you are pregnant to set up your tentative date! I reserve Sunday's to shoot newborns exclusively so if I have your due date in advance I can plan to be there to help capture your fresh bundle of joy!

Didn't plan to do a newborn session but now that baby is here you are wanting to book a session? That's okay too...contact me and I will find time on a Sunday to squeeze in your session!

Take a look at these adorable newborn images! This sweet little girl was less than ten days old!

Best shoes EVER! (The sequel)

About two years ago I posted a blog about the best shoes EVER...you know the one...the gorgeous pictures of the shoes worn by Debra (my little sister) on her wedding day...well, less than a year later she was rockin' some pretty smokin' shoes again...but this time she did it while showing off her baby bump. Is there anything more fun than a glam belly session? As usually Debra rocked the shoes and looked stunning as a mom-to-be. Take a peek at her and her and her cool shoes!
