Deidra is ONE!
When Deidra's mom invited me to capture some special images of her 1 year old I was more than happy to do it. Mom was totally prepared with a cute little onsie and tutus to match. She didn't care about backdrops or the perfect pose or location...all she wanted was to capture her little girl as a one year old. She was such a sweetie!

Editing Process
When it comes to photography and the editing process one of the first things we do is edit out the shots that didn't work - the subject was moving, looking the wrong way, etc., but sometimes those photos are MY favourite. The pictures that really capture the personality of a child, family or event aren't the ones that are directed and posed - they are the ones where life unfolds in front of the camera. After going through Isaac's role I found a few that may have been sent to the trash by some photographers, but to me they represent everything this little 2 year old is! Enjoy!
Isaac having a moment with mom - a few tears were shed, but mom was there to comfort him.

Isaac covered his mouth with giggles when I snapped this shot and even though you can't see his whole face I think it's more playful than just a smile!

Isaac was standing in front of this brick wall when he saw a tractor that was more interesting, so off he went!

Summer
As you may have noticed this summer my blogs have been far and few between. A hot summer meant lots of vacation time for me and my family...so I spent very little time on the computer. I did take a pile of photos this summer though, of families, babies and weddings...but instead of sharing those with you I decided to make this post a little more personal. These are a few of the moments I captured this summer with my family. I like to capture our life in photos...and they don't have to be stunning, posed or perfect images...they just have to capture a glimpse of a memories we have made as a family! Enjoy!

Behind the Scenes
Some of my favourite moments while shooting babies are the moments just before or after capturing the set up and posed shot. These are the moments when mom or dad step in and calm a crying baby or try and make a little one giggle. There are a lot more of those moments when shooting twins - twice as many tears and twice as many giggles. When the these darling twin girls came to me they were no exception, they were so much fun and you could tell mom and dad would do anything to make them smile...here are a couple of the behind the scenes moments....

Glowing
Is there anything more gorgeous than a bride on her wedding day? Natalie was stunning, but not only that she was calm, relaxed and just so happy and I think that shows in the pictures. Brad also looked great. He didn't seem quite as relaxed as Natalie, that is until he saw her walk down the aisle. It was at that moment Brad became completely calm. The way he looked at Natalie told me that he was head over heels in love with his beautiful bride! Here are a few portrait shots...enjoy!

Boy or Girl?
I always love shooting belly photos...especially when the mom-to-be has no idea whether the baby is a boy or a girl. The anticipation of meeting the new arrival is all consuming, but not knowing the gender of the baby always makes the anticipation even more palpable. Kayla is only a few weeks away from her due date. The baby's room is ready, everything is prepared...the last thing on the list was belly photos. Here are a few of my favourite shots..I just love the shape of a baby belly!

It's in the details
Having been a bride I know all about the planning that goes into a wedding. There are so many little things that make up this huge and important day. I love to capture all the special little details that a bride has worked so hard to plan. I want to capture the story of the day...right down to the smallest details.

Here are a few special details from Brad and Natalie's beautiful summer wedding. Look for future blog posts with portrait, ceremony and reception highlights!
