Twice as Nice!

I got the phone call to book a newborn session just days after these twin darlings came home. The remarkable thing about these two precious little babies is that they were not exactly the typical newborn session age. This baby girl and boy were already 2.5 months old when I got to photograph them (just days before their actual due date). What made this such an awesome experience was how relaxed Mom and Dad were. They welcomed me into their home and shared stories about how these two sweethearts came into the world. 

The household was relaxed and comfortable and the babies slept like champs the entire session. When either would even begin to startle Mom was able to sooth them instantly...just the sound of her voice made them peaceful. In fact, these two were so comforted by the sound of Mom and Dad talking they smiled constantly. I don't think I have ever captured so many smiles during a newborn session. 

What a great morning...and some wonderful memories for Mom and Dad!

Breezy Belly Session

Remember all that nice weather we had in March...heck even the practically balmy weather we had over the course of most of the winter? Well, on this day in April it was not balmy or unseasonably warm...it was cold...down right freezing with the insane wind we had to deal with that night. Despite is all this mama and her growing family braved the conditions and had a little fun with me!

So, on this chilly April night (and the official due date of the mom-to-be) this blog post seems fitting. Hope you all enjoy it from your warm and comfy house!

Another post...another birthday!

Another sweet birthday girl is gracing the blog. I met this wee darling last year when she was about 4 months old. She has grown so much and is ready to take on the world! She has discovered walking and a love of food...she certainly loved every moment of her cake smash! This was such a fun session...take a peek and you'll see why!

 Pretty sure this is my favourite picture....she just looks totally annoyed with all that mom and I made her do! :-)

NOT a newborn!

So, I promised the mom of this little boy a sneak peek last night. I didn't deliver (life got in the way). Soooo, to make it up to her I figured I would blog this little guys session...which includes additional sneak peeks! That makes up for last nights lack of sneak peek....right?

Since January I have been shooting newborn after newborn...and birthday session after birthday session. I LOVE shooting both, but it's also all I have been posting on the blog...and if I am getting a bit bored of sharing newborn and birthday sessions I figured you are getting tired of seeing them...so, wait for it....today you get a baby blog!

He isn't a newborn and he still has a a bit to go before he is one....but he is adorable! This is actually my favourite age to photograph a little one. Between the ages of 6-8 months babies are a blast. They have a TON of personality, they are sitting on their own and basically they find EVERYTHING I do hilarious. It's hard not to love these sessions.

If you have a little one and a photo session is something you have been thinking about then be sure to book a session when your little one is sitting unassisted and isn't yet crawling (the better they get at crawling the faster they get away). You won't be disappointed! Take a look and see for yourself!

Another Amazing Newborn Session!

The moment a couple learns that they are pregnant (especially for the first time) is usually accompanied with a mixed bag of emotion. There is so much joy and excitement...but there is also so much anxiety, worry...it really makes you wonder how on earth it'll be possible to get thru a pregnancy without a nervous breakdown!

Mom and Dad of this darling boy had more than their fair share of ups and downs during pregnancy. Plenty of visits to the doctor, long weekly commutes into the city for appointments and a whole lot of bed rest. This was an eventful pregnancy...and while although I know it must have been difficult at times for these first time parents they made it...they got to the pregnancy finish line and finally welcomed their son into the world....and I was lucky enough to be part of his first days here on earth! I can only hope that they appreciate these images as much as I enjoyed being the one to take them. I feel so grateful to be invited into the homes of new parents and hear about their birth stories, see them interact with their baby in those very early stages of life and meet the new addition. On this particular day I also got to be there when Grandma and Grandpa met their grandson for the first time, what a special moment for me to be part of...I really feel so close to all the parents and families that I meet when shooting a newborn session!

Lucky for me, this baby boy was a fantastic model! I set up and I swear mom handed me the little guy and BAM, he was asleep...out like a light and didn't make a peep! I worked fast....got a ton of shots...and then passed this little newborn photo session champ onto his proud grandparents.
