Bundle of Joy

There is only one thing I hate about newborn sessions...turning them down. This month I have turned away three sessions due to lack of availability. It is SO important to book newborn sessions well in advance to secure a spot. Consider booking in your second trimester if you are set on adorable squishy newborn images!

This mama booked with time to spare and I'm glad she did! This little bundle of joy was a doll. She happily slumbered as I posed her in various positions with barely a peep. Some gorgeous memories of a time that passes by too quickly.

If you are interested in a newborn session please be sure to plan ahead!

Seeing Double

Two little babies. Two adorable subjects. One amazing photo session.

These two gorgeous little guys were so teeny tiny but VERY cooperative. I'm sure that with twins not all moments are as peaceful as this, but I hope when it gets tough (and with two wee babes and a busy toddler it certainly will) that Mom and Dad can look back at these photos and remember the very early days and how far they have come!

Looking to book a newborn session? Please contact me in your third trimester. I only take a limited number of newborns each month and sometimes have to turn new mommies away. Please don't be disappointed and be sure to get on my calendar to ensure a session within the optimal newborn stage (1-14 days old).

Little? Maybe. Mighty? Absolutely!

I met baby R's Mom and Dad for a maternity session on a chilly spring evening and I connected with them quickly! They are such a great couple. Their story of a move halfway across the country (away from family) only to find that that had a baby on the way just struck a chord with me. Even though their families would be far away, they had each other, and they were so excited to meet their baby girl.

Little did they know that when their beautiful baby girl arrived that their whole world would be thrown upside down! Baby R was sent to Sick Kids, where she received amazing care for a very serious condition that limited her ability to eat and breath. Luckily, one month to the day after her arrival this baby girl came to the studio and she is doing remarkably well. Mom and Dad are adjusting to parenthood like champs! This is one special family and one very sweet baby girl!

I hope that these images serve as a memory of all that they have endured during the early days of her arrival. For a teeny, tiny little girl she sure is a tough cookie!

Precious.

How gorgeous is this baby girl? I sure do get to photograph some adorable little munchkins...but this one I almost missed out on!

This baby girl made her way into the world and Mom and Dad were quickly wrapped up in this gorgeous little girl that we didn't get to her session until she was 14 days old...in fact, I did a rare evening newborn session just to be sure to get it in amongst the other newborn sessions I had going on that week. Lucky for me she was such a precious (and cooperative) little bundle. She was SO easy going that I captured far fewer images than I normally do during a newborn session with just as much prop and drop variety. She was such a great little model!

Take a peek as this beautiful and easy going baby girl!

Strike a pose!

This birthday boy was like no other! Despite falling asleep while eating breakfast (just before his session) he got into the spirit of the session RELLY quickly.

He is the only (and likely the last) 1 year old that literally sat down and posed for me. He looked right at me, smiled, made adorable faces and didn't try to crawl, walk or run away. MOST COOPERATIVE TODDLER EVER! Come to think of it...he might also have been one of most easy going newborns too! What a fun morning...with some wonderful memories captured. Enjoy your peek Mom and Dad!

Fresh.

Oh. My. Gosh. There is nothing more adorable than a brand spanking new baby to snuggle and cuddle! I was lucky to meet this sweet little princess just 6 days after she made her arrival. Mama was overdue and I am sure she was very anxious to meet this beautiful baby girl, but after looking at this sweet face I am sure she knew that the wait was worth it!

I've spent the last 2 years focusing a lot more time on my newborn sessions and I just can't get enough! They are long and exhausting but the final product always makes me so excited to hand over the picture to a new mom and dad. Enjoy these sweet sleepy sneak peeks!

Just a little cold...

Wow...what a start to this session! It. Was. Freezing. The spot we started off in was being hit hard with intense wind...I was worried. Luckily as we moved around and found some other areas to shoot in we got some shelter from the wind and started to feel all our limbs again! :-) In fact, the rest of the session was rather nice...partly because I had feeling in my fingers but mostly because I got to know a very sweet couple! I always feel so special when people include me to help share such important moments, but it's made even sweeter by the fact that this couple JUST moved into the area (from rather far away) and found me online and wanted to work with me! They didn't know someone who had worked with me, they came to my work and decided I was the right choice for them...that is pretty special! Thanks mom and dad-to-be!

Well, I hope the wait was worth it for mom-to-be (I am a day later than I had planed on this post because of a sick kid - story of my life)! They are a sweet couple...and you can't even tell they were partially frozen! :-)
